Character Selection Guidelines
Each player participating in the tournament is asked to select 10 characters from the roster. To keep things interesting and balanced, we've made a few restrictions on which characters you may choose for your team. Your team must consist of the min/max number characters as shown below. Each character in the Tournament is assigned to one of the three colored categories below:
Chars in this Group Min Max
Green 1 3
Blue 5 7
Red 1 3
Match Info
The Regular Season will have characters engaged in one-on-one combat.
The Playoffs will be a group battle where characters are grouped into teams of 7. The fights will have 3 types of battles:
One-on-one
2 vs 2 Simultaneous Battle
4 vs 4 Survival Battle
In Survival Battle, characters will do a sequential one-on-one battle. In this battle mode the winning character will keep fighting until they lose or all of the fighters from the other team have been defeated. After a round is completed, the winning character will have some of their life bar replenished. The amount of life the winning character will have to begin the next round is completely dependent on how much they have left from the last.
Each type of battle listed above is counted as 1 win/lose for the team. The team that wins 2 of the 3 battles will be the winner for that particular match.
There will be 16 teams in the Playoffs. Each character is already assigned a group based on their story lines from their respective universe as well as to balance out the teams so every team has a chance of winning the tournament.
First Round Best of 3
2nd Round Best of 3
Final Four Best of 5
Semi-Final Best of 5
FINALS Best of 7
The Finals Match will be a best-of-seven series using the same group battle format as the playoffs. Each of the characters will be earning points throughout the tournament. Each characters final score will be posted a week after the tournament is over.
Recommended Strategy
Please familiarize yourself with the point system as this should give you a good starting point in devising your strategy on which characters to pick. Unlike a typical fantasy league where a player/character is no longer available once they have been drafted, this tournament let's you pick your own set of characters regardless of what others have chosen. There are rules on character selection which is outlined below.
Some of the things you need to consider with your strategy when selecting characters:
Character overall power, fighting skills
Which team the character belongs to
What the characters placement is if they'll be playing in the 4 vs 4 battles
Who they're fighting with if they're fighting in the 2 vs 2 simultaneous battles
Other Strategy - Voting
This is the best way to influence the tournament to go in your characters' favor. Consider doing the following to increase your chances of getting the most points:
Vote for matches that you think your character can win
Invite a lot of your friends to join you in the tournament so you can get more votes going your way
Vote for matches that you think will be a disadvantage for characters that pose a threat to your characters
Tell your friends to vote against characters that pose a threat to yours. You can return the favor by helping them vote their way later on
